Man, I should have been blogging way sooner..There were a days that are worth a post each! Then I got lazy. Haha. I am possibly the laziest person alive!!(Jacq Shush...)
As you know I did have my Easter holidays and well, so happens they weren't as empty as I thought. Though more could have been done, since I turned nocturnal since....well, I've been semi-nocturnal before but now I just ascended into shadowhood (so to speak). Been trying to sleep early and turn myself into a creature of the day again, but with very much little success.
Anyhow, its been an interesting Easter break. As you know I went for a conference and it was awesome! The aftermath was even more interesting. Just the week after the conference, my group called YAF(young adults fellowship) had a lovely task of running a music event! Not big as you might think but big for a team of around 10 or slightly more!(those who were REALLY involved i mean) And the catch is....we had one week to plan it. It was a good idea, and I think if it was anywhere else, people would be skeptical enough to say its impossible. But God does wonders.
From Monday onwards, we started planning, delegating, and most importantly praying(we'll get to the results later). The event had the theme of love, from love in a relationship, to love of materials(money) and then, love of God, obviously. There were loads of songs, and 2 sketches(acting) 3mins roughly each. I was in both of them, haha. And of course, big events means we were to invite our friends if possible, and we made it a mission really. Before Friday, we met and prayed every night from Monday onwards.
The results: INCREDIBLE! on normal GOOD Friday we usually barely reach 40ppl. But we achieved 61people on Friday 5th of April 2008! And most of the feedbacks were very positive. Of course, some of us wished it be more successful with salvations, but I believe God's presence was there and he heard our prayers. Hope you don't mind me saying it if you do read this, but I invited 2 friends, one, she doesn't stay in Leicester, but she came anyway! I was very surprised and glad. Moreover, (no offence) I never expected you would ask me questions about it later on. And for that I'm also really glad. Second, well, I find him hard to reach sometimes but I managed to and he also came! Haven't followed up on him yet but hope I'll get a chance to.
To sum it up, through these past few weeks, I think I have learned quite a lot about the power of prayer and also unity. I've been very moved by the things my friends here have done and said. In a sense, I believe this is also why I'm here in Leicester instead of anywhere else; to learn, and to share, to be blessed and bless others.
Now, to unfortunate news. I would like to dedicate this portion to a person I know from high school. I did not know him well, and we never hung out, but he was my classmate at a time. He met with an unfortunate accident in a gym, and he passed away. Peace be with you Andrew Yap. I did not know you, but I believe you have touched many lives with your presence. You will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family, he rests with God now, where there is no pain and suffering.
Also heard, there are lots of major changes back in my church in Malaysia as well! Thanks for enlightening me Yew San. ahaha. Shame to hear you step down Gary, you've been a good mentor. Gotta yum cha at least when I get back, ahaha. Well, not sure if its official yet but I'll mention it anyway. And also, to Iris, heard you are probably gonna fill in Gary's shoes soon. May God guide you, Aunt Iris. Ehehehe. Would like to hear more about it things back at home. And I have loads to share with you guys! And could you guys promo my blog alittle bit please??ahaha..thanks
Well, Easter break is coming to an end, I already started revision with VERY little success and God help me in my revision! Exam period starts May 18th or so. Hence they doomsday countdown. Joy!! Parent's are coming over soon for a few days too! Can't wait and dreading it in a way. Ahaha. Also,
CONGRATULATIONS! to two VERY excellent Malaysian Doctors! Dr Wong Siew Lee and Dr Ken? lol...sorry Ken don't know your full name. They just passed their finals and will soon to be full fledge doctors! Its no picnic to become a doctor, just knowing they're doing med is sending shivers down my spine.
Anyway, too many words for my post already, will place some pictures now about the things I did in my Easter break. Enjoy.
